The Local government Finance Commission (LGFC) top management met with a team from Resource Enhancement and Accountability Program (REAP) in the Commission boardroom. They discussed the operations of Resource Coordinating Unit (RCU) in supporting Public Finance Management (PFM) reform strategies in the country including the Integrated Revenue Administration system (IRAS) implementation being one of them.
The funding of IRAS in the local governments that are yet to be enrolled on system was discussed and financing for the same would be sought. It was noted that IRAS has been a good initiative for the automation of Local revenue administration and this has improved collections.
