On Friday the Lgfc conducted Local Gov't forums at different sub-regional centres on Local Gov't Financing. These aimed at giving a platform to key stakeholders at LGs level to discuss pertaining challenges in budget implementation and Financing issues and chat a way forward.
In collaboration with @MoLGUganda, @lgfcweb developed and launched Local Governments Own Source Revenue Mobilisation Strategy and inaugurated the Strategy Coordination Committee on Friday with a target of collecting shs. 1 trillion local revenue in the next two financial years.
Under its mandate to monitor Local Governments budgets and ensure that they don't significantly detract from priority areas, today the Commission had an evidence based visit and policy dialogue with LG leadership of Kakumiro, Mpigi and Bukwo LGs.
