Local Government Finance Commission (LGFC) meets the Hon Members of the Committee of Parliament on Public Service and Local Governments
LGFC on 13th June 2025 led by the Commission Chairman Hon. Isaac Isanga Musumba presented issues of Local Revenue Mobilization, Enhancement and utilization in the Local Governments to the Hon Members of the Parliament Committee on Public Service and Local Governments
The Commission presented its mandate as enshrined in Article 194(4) of the Constitution of Uganda and Section 8 of the Local Government Finance Commission Act.
The challenges in the Collection of Local Revenues and recommendations were also presented to the committee to support the enactment of laws and policies for local revenue enhancement that deter political actors from interfering in local revenue mobilization and administration
Strategic Interventions in the Enhancement of Local Revenues in Local Governments that have resulted in the Increase of Local Revenue and this has caused an increase from UGX 256bn in FY 2020/21 to UGX 405bn in FY 2023/24.
